The statewide average was $3.95, up two cents from a week ago, and down nearly four cents from the same time last year, according to the report.

Overall, a Weekend Gas Watch report issued by AAA Hawaiʻi showed an increase in gas prices over the past week, and a drop in gas prices from a year ago in Honolulu and Hilo.

“A look in the New Year at monthly price averages around the US show Alaska at $3.65 a gallon for unleaded, California at $3.66, Oklahoma at $3.06 and Montana at $3.00,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida in a press release issued today.
