Record High Temperature Set in Kahului

A record high temperature of 86 degrees was documented in Kahului on Thursday, Feb. 20, tying an old record set for the same day in 1977, according to data compiled by the National Weather Service.

NWS forecasters say today calls for isolated showers after noon with mostly sunny skies and a high near 83 degrees.

The high temperature comes less than four weeks after a record low temperature was recorded in Kahului, Maui.

The National Weather Service recorded a record low temperature of 55 degrees on Friday, Jan. 24 in Kahului, breaking the old record of 56 last set in 2000.
