The annual Kids, Inc. Business Showcase is seeking applicants for the upcoming event, taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at the Queen Kaʻahumanu Shopping Center in Kahului.

Youth entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to showcase their creations and set up shop during the one day event.

Children ages 6 to 15 may submit their small-business concepts beginning next week Wednesday, June 11, through 11 p.m. HST on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 via the Queen Kaʻahumanu Shopping Center Facebook page.

Children 12 and under will need a parent or guardian to submit their entry for them.

Event organizers say the Kids, Inc. Business Showcase is a unique way to highlight the island’s youth entrepreneurs, support their ambitions and offer the experience of conducting business at Maui’s largest shopping center.

Out of the submissions received a total of 10 kid-run businesses will win an opportunity to set up shop at the event.

Organizers say participants will be able to sell their products or services, and keep all earnings they make.

“Business concepts are expected to have minimal parental involvement, and can include creating something from scratch, offering a service, or reselling a product purchased from a wholesaler,” event organizers said.
