Christmas Gifts Sought for MEO Low-Income Children

Maui Economic Opportunity is accepting donations of Christmas gifts for children enrolled in the MEO Early Childhood programs, whose families are unable to provide them with a gift this holiday season.

The presents will be provided to children attending programs supported by the MEO Early Childhood Services Department including: the MEO Head Start preschool; MEO Kahi Kamaliʻi Infant and Toddler Center for kids 12 months to 3 years old; and the MEO ʻOhana Strengthening project for kids from birth to 16 years of age; and children of incarcerated women.

Program representatives say families served by these programs do not have the means to provide Christmas gifts for their children. Donations will be used to ensure that each child will have one wrapped gift for Christmas.

Program representatives say requested donations include unwrapped Christmas presents including books, toys, and gift cards to purchase necessities such as shoes and clothes.

Gifts and donations can be dropped off until Dec. 17 at the MEO Early Childhood Services office located at the MEO Family Center, 99 Mahalani Street in Wailuku between 7:15 a.m. and 4 p.m.
