The Asian Real Estate Association of America is jump-starting a Hawai‘i chapter to promote sustainable home ownership opportunities for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

The non-profit intends to assist local homeowners who speak English as a second language to afford them equal opportunities in home ownership. The organization also offers educational outreach for the real estate community to familiarize Realtors with cultural differences they may encounter when dealing with international clients.

AREAA currently has about 80 members on Maui and O‘ahu, and has a national membership of about 15,000 across the US and Canada. Members meet at an annual summit which will be held in April of this year in Chicago. An annual national conference will occur in September in San Francisco.
