The County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development is presenting a full lineup of workshops in February at the Maui County Business Resource Center located in the Maui Mall, Ste. B-9.

Spaces are limited and schedules are subject to change or cancellation. To make a reservation to attend a workshop, contact the center at 873-8247. Workshops are free unless otherwise indicated.

Chaos to Carefree – 5 Steps to Optimize Your Business and Affect Your Bottom Line

Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, noon–1:15 p.m.

Chaos to Carefree offers five simple steps to harmonize your business and efficiently make your business vision a reality. Optimize your business by creating a “Mission Possible” with organizer and small business owner Gylian Solay, M.S. Get more done, and create functional, manageable space in your workplace that are easy to maintain.

Business on the Grill with MBB Members

Maui Business Brainstormers (MBB) meet every month to share and learn about beginning, operating, and expanding your own business. The featured segments of this workshop will include:

1) Get to Know Your Neighbor: This is an opportunity to interact with new faces and strengthen own abilities to socialize with others in fast paced situations.

2) Business on the Grill: This segment creates a case study for mutual learning. A MBB member submits own business to be grilled. To apply for this segment, the business must be in operation with sales and the need to grow, but facing challenges.

Small Business Lending Workshop

Find out how to fund your startup business or expand it, know what to be aware of, and what lenders look for. Learn the ABC’s of small business lending with Loan Fund Managers David Daly and John Flom. MEO Business Development Center (MEO BDC) is a microenterprise development program within Maui Economic Opportunity Inc. providing capital and business assistance throughout Maui County. MEO BDC has a loan program available, lending from $500 to $50,000.

Social Media Marketing Game Plan

Learn to build a Marketing Game Plan from start to finish and take home “action steps” to earn more money online. Quickbooks for Small Business: Hands-on computer training for beginners

Learn to use QuickBooks in a small class setting tailored to your needs. Designed for new users, the class with show you how to record sales, receive payments, prepare invoices and balance your checkbook. Attendees may schedule a free followup session to discuss further solutions. The workshop is sponsored by SCORE (Service Corps Of Retired Executives) and instructed by Richard Kehoe, CPA, a lead SCORE counselor.
