5 Maui Students Among Finalists in Congressional Competition

Five Maui students are among a list of 23 finalist in the Hawaiʻi 2nd Congressional District’s Kaha Kiʻi Art Competition.

The list of finalists was announced by Congresswoman Tusli Gabbard of Hawaiʻi and includes: Karina Bhattacharya, Levi Holley, and Julia Kimoto of Baldwin High School; and Kenneth Basubas and Cendall Manley of Molokaʻi High School.

The annual competition recognizes and encourages creativity in youth across the state.

Rep. Gabbard will announce the winners of the district-wide competition this Saturday, March 28 in a ceremony at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol.

The first-place piece will be displayed for one year in the US Capitol alongside winners from other US congressional districts.
