The County of Maui Department of Housing and Human Concerns, Office on Aging, has announced the nominees: Donna Bishaw, Katsuko Enoki, Donald Jensen, Kathleen Phillips, John Tryggestad and Joan Opitz.

“The Maui County Office on Aging is proud to join many others across the nation in celebrating this landmark act,” said Maui County Executive on Aging Deborah Stone-Walls. “We are pleased to recognize this year’s nominees and look forward to celebrating their many years of service in our community.”

This year’s theme, “Get Into the Act,” offers a call to every citizen to be active in their community and to serve for the greater good. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Older Americans Act of 1965, under which many programs were created to serve older adults in the United States.
