A new downloadable app enables users to search for accessible parking spaces in Hawaiʻi.

Supported by the Hawaiʻi State Disability and Communication Access Board, the free Accessible Parking Locator App shows photos of accessible parking spaces at state parks, airports, government office parking facilities and select shopping malls, medical facilities and familiar local venues.

There are 500 photos of designated, accessible parking spaces currently uploaded in the app database.

The “dpark.us” app can be download at the App Store for Android and other mobile devices. New photos can be uploaded to the database by using the onscreen instructions.

The intent of the locator app is to assist people with disabilities in finding an accessible parking space that they can use. It is not intended to be an enforcement tool to cite violators.
