Surf Eases, Reinforcement Expected This Weekend

A High Surf Advisory is posted for the north & west facing shores of Molokai and the north shore of Maui through 6 a.m. Friday. Surf along north facing shores is expected to be 10 to 16 feet. West shores are expected to get up to 8 to 12 feet.
A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Maui County waters and channels through 6 a.m. Friday for winds up to 30 knots and seas up to 12 feet.

North: Wave heights are expected to be overhead today with the best breaks pulling in double overhead waves in the morning.
West: Wave heights about waist/shoulder high today with the best breaks getting up to head high on the sets. Spots farther to the south are much smaller.
South: Wave heights under knee high today. Spots shadowed by other islands will be flat.
Our current northwest swell is expected to continue fading today and ease further on Saturday. A reinforcing northwest is expected on Sunday.
Our current south-southwest is down to traces today.
Trade swell is continues Friday with our gusty winds and will drop off as winds begin to subside this weekend.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
