Air Methods will host a special memorial ceremony on Wednesday to remember the lives of Flight Nurse Chad Frary and Pilot David Schneider, who were both fatally injured in an accident involving an Airbus AS350 on Dec. 15, 2015 near Apache Junction in Arizona.

Schneider, 51, was a former pilot for Air Maui.  A friend contacted Maui Now saying Schneider was a neighbor in Kīhei and was employed as a pilot while on island.

The ceremony will include presentations by the Honor Guard, prayers by Chaplain Tom McSherry of the Mesa Fire and Medical Department, a presentation of Pendleton blankets by a San Carlos Apache Tribal representative, and a helicopter fly-over following the service.

A live stream of the memorial will be available at mission68.org/live/ during the time of the service, between 10 and 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 from the Mission Community Church in Gilbert, Arizona.

The service is for family and friends, EMS providers, and members of the community.

A third crew member, Flight Paramedic Derek Boehm, 38, was the sole survivor.  Derek’s loved ones have set up a GoFundMe account to assist with medical expenses during his recovery.
