Maui Firefighters Respond to 7 Fireworks Related New Years Calls

Maui firefighters responded to seven fireworks-related calls between New Year’s Eve and 6:30 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

Fire officials say none of the incidents resulted in fireworks related injuries.

Below is a list of calls the fire department responded to over the holiday:

• 7:14 p.m. Brushfire, 20 x 20 ft.; Lihikai School grounds, Kunu Pl./Papa Ave.; Fireworks related.

• 11:06 p.m. Dumpster fire; Hanakaʻōʻō “Canoe” Beach, Lahaina; Cause undetermined.
