Maui Crime, Jan. 31 – Feb. 6: Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 17 burglaries, 15 vehicle thefts, and 20 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6, 2016.

Of the 15 vehicle thefts, nine of the vehicles have since been recovered.  The incidents were reported in Nāpili, Kāʻanapali, Pāʻia, Kahului, Kīhei, Lahaina, Pukalani and Wailuku.

Burglary incidents were up to 17 from the 9 incidents reported the week before. The greatest number of burglaries reported was in Kahului where there were five incidents reported over seven days.

Vehicle break-ins were up to 20, from 18 incidents reported the week before.  The greatest number was in Kahului with five incidents reported at the location.
