Maui Crime, Feb. 14–20: Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 14 burglaries, 12 vehicle thefts, and 34 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between Feb. 14 and 20, 2016.

Of the 12 vehicle thefts, four of the vehicles have since been recovered.  The incidents were reported in Kīhei, Nāpili, Kahului, Lahaina, Molokaʻi, Wailuku, Kāʻanapali and Haʻikū.

Burglary incidents were down to 14 from the 15 incidents reported the week before. The greatest number of burglaries reported was in Wailea where there were three incidents reported over seven days.

Vehicle break-ins more than tripled up to 34, from the 11 incidents reported the week before.  The greatest number was in Kahului, with 11 incidents reported over seven days.
