Gusty North Winds Expected Behind Front

A Special Weather Statement has just been issued through Thursday for gusty north to northeast winds. Locally strong gusts are possible during this time especially over and downwind of higher terrain and to the far east and west points of each island. If you have loose outdoor objects, consider securing them before the winds pick up.
A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all island waters through 6 a.m Thursday. This advisory may be extended if conditions persist.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for the island of Lāna’i through 6 a.m. Thursday for north winds from 20 to 30 mph, gusting to 50 mph.

Looking Ahead
A weak cold front will push across the state into Wednesday. Strong high pressure building to the northwest of the state behind the front will bring cool and gusty northerly winds over the islands through Thursday. Breezy trade wind weather is expected from Friday through the weekend. Winds will veer to the southeast and south early next week, with an increasing chance of showers.

Today we expect partly sunny skies and scattered showers for windward slopes and shores. High temperatures from 75° to 80°. Winds are out of the north from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
