Two instructors from the Maui Social Media School will hold “Creating a Social Media Marketing Plan,” a full-day social media training workshop for startup entrepreneurs and small business owners, on Thursday, May 19, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Maui Research & Technology Center, 590 Līpoa Parkway in Kīhei.

Nicole Fisher of Skywriting by Nico and Danielle Miller of Miller Media Management have teamed up as co-owners of the Maui Social Media School to help business owners and startups learn how best to use this marketing tool.

This workshop combines foundational marketing training with tutorials on four popular social media networks: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.

In this workshop, students learn how to:

  • Establish standard operating procedures for marketing,
  • Choose and use social media their customers are already using,
  • Identify their growth stage and which strategies work best for their situation,
  • Use editorial calendars to plan out social media marketing campaigns.

Breakout sessions will enable students to learn relevant tutorials, such as creating buyer personas or tracking return on investment using social media analytics and insights. The workshop will also proved templates that students can use after workshop has ended.

“I’m excited about attending Maui Social Media School because it will help us build a marketing plan and pinpoint what tools we need to reach our clients,” said Kate Alvarez, co-owner of Maui Arbor Scape, a “2016 Mayor’s Outstanding Achievement Award” winner. “The positive energy and can do attitude of the instructors makes me genuinely excited to be a part of this workshop!”

The cost of the workshop is $149 for those who register by April 30, 2016; after that, the fee is $199.
