Flowers Scattered in Honor of Orlando Shooting Victims
The Maui Pride organization hosted a vigil on Monday night at the shore fronting the Maui Sunseeker LGBT Resort in South Maui to remember the lives lost during a deadly shooting at an Orlando night club over the weekend.
Organizers said the Maui event offered the public an opportunity to stand in solidarity with the community, and included a scattering of flowers and messages from leaders in the Maui LGBT community.
Meantime, the Honolulu FBI issued a statement yesterday saying there are no known related threats within the agency’s area of responsibility and the perpetrator has no known association with our island communities.
