Wailea Golf Raises $3,400 for Military Families

Two Limited Edition Titleist golf bags were raffled as part of Wailea Golf Club’s fundraiser for Folds of Honor.

The Wailea Golf Club raised nearly $3,400 for the nonprofit Folds of Honor as part of a statewide effort to support families of US men and women in service.

The Aloha Section PGA, in partnership with the Hawaiʻi Chamber of Commerce, designated September as Patriot Golf Month. Participating golf courses across the state, including all three courses at Wailea, organized special fundraising activities to raise funds for scholarships for family members of wounded or fallen US service men and women.

Wailea Golf Club’s efforts included a raffle for two Limited Edition Titleist Folds of Honor golf bags, special Folds of Honor par 3 contests on each course, and donations received from customers.

“We were aiming to raise at least $1,100 for Patriot Golf Month this year, and are really pleased to have achieved three times our goal,” said Marcus Judge, PGA, head golf professional at Wailea. “I can’t thank our staff and customers enough for their hard work and generosity. This is a really wonderful way to recognize the sacrifices of our military personnel and provide some measure of support for their families. We’re glad to be a part of it.”

The Wailea Blue raised $1,291, and the Wailea Gold & Emerald generated $2,106.59, for a total of $3,397.59 for Folds of Honor during this year’s Patriot Golf Month. Suzie Henyan of Oʻahu and Craig Trenholme of Maui won the Folds of Honor golf bags at Wailea’s pro shops.
