Rising Sun Launches “Aloha of Solar” Community Events
Rising Sun Solar launches 2017 with a series of community social events called the Aloha of Solar, which will promote Maui Electric Company’s new “Customer Self Supply” home solar program.
Maui Electric’s Net Energy Metering program ended in October 2015, as did its transitional Customer Grid Supply program; however, Rinsing Sun Solar wants to ensure Maui residents that rooftop home solar is still viable and available on Maui.
To help with this, Rising Sun’s Aloha of Solar events combine celebration with education, offering free food, live music and prizes with expert speakers in the topic of solar and energy storage in Maui.
Attendees are invited to bring their utility bill for a chance to win two roundtrip tickets to the US West Coast on Hawaiian Airlines. Other prizes include free solar device chargers and Rising Sun merchandise.
“If the community is willing to spend their evening learning about solar in Maui, the least we can do is show them a good time,” says Rising Sun co-owner Matias Besasso.
“These events allow us to share the Aloha of Solar with the community. They’re a fun, relaxed and social way to listen to industry experts chat about the latest in rooftop solar and home energy storage solutions. We also share how customers can reap incredible savings using solar energy both day and night,” said Besasso.
The first event will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center; from 6 to 8 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Guests are invited to come early for complimentary pūpū and drinks.
