Maui Surf Forecast
North: Surf heights are expected to be waist/shoulder high today with the best breaks getting up to head high on the sets.
West: Surf heights are expected to be waist high today with the best breaks catching some chest high sets.
South: Surf heights are expected to be waist high today with the best breaks catching some chest high sets.
Energy from our current south-southwest swell is fading Thursday/Friday. We expect something fun to build Friday for the weekend and fade back out late Sunday. Long range models are showing we may get a good swell toward the end of the month. Will keep an eye on it.
East trade swell continues at advisory levels through early Thursday before easing. Modest northwest swell is forecast to build today, peak Thursday afternoon and ease Friday. Later in the weekend, a larger northwest swell is expected to fill in through the day Sunday, peaking Sunday night into Monday, then easing early next week. This swell will gradually shift out of a more northerly direction and hold into midweek as it trends down.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
