Staff Shortage Disrupts Refuse Pickups in Kula

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced that due to a staff shortage, residential refuse on part of a collection route in Kula was not picked up today. All missed pickups are expected to be completed tomorrow, Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

Affected Areas in Kula include: Pūlehu Road, Ōmaʻopio Road, Kula Highway, Lower Kula Road, Kula Kai subdivision, Piliwale Road, Holopuni Road, Akea Place, Waimele Place and all surrounding streets and roads.

Officials with the Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public in advance for their understanding and cooperation.
