Update: 5:45 p.m. 5/26/17
The highway has since been cleared and the road is now open in both directions.

Kahekili Highway (340) is closed to traffic at mile-marker 8 due to a vehicle that left the roadway and went down a gulch.
There are no injuries reported yet but emergeny crews are working to rescue the occupants which has resulted in the closure.
Motorists should expect delays. It is unknown how long the cloaure will be in place.
