Looking Ahead
Trade wind weather is forecast into the weekend with showers for our usual windward and mauka spots. Enhanced trade showers are forecast through Wednesday. Hurricane Fernanda continues to move northwest and is forecast to weaken over the next couple of days. It’s still too soon to know what affect Fernanda will have on island weather early next week. On the current path, we could either see tropical moisture move over the state or if the system passes far north, it could cut off our trade winds and bring muggy weather.
Today
We expect northeast winds around 15 to 20 mph. High temperatures are forecast from 86° to 91°. Partly to mostly cloudy skies with numerous windward showers in the morning and scattered afternoon showers. Partly sunny for leeward spots with scattered morning showers and isolated afternoon showers.
UV index at 12 (“extreme” exposure level)
Tonight
Mostly cloudy skies with numerous windward showers and partly cloudy with isolated showers for leeward areas. Low temperatures from 73° to 78°. Winds are expected to be northeast around 15 to 20 mph.
