MNHCoC General Members Meeting and Dinner, Aug. 8
The Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce will hold its General Members Meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapū.
The meeting, sponsored by Island Sotheby’s International Realty, will give attendees the opportunity to meet and congratulate incoming MNHCoC board of director members.
Hawai‘i Affiliates of Sotheby’s International Realty Charitable Fund will discuss their Ho‘okupu Fund, a collective philanthropy effort across all four Hawai‘i-based Island Sotheby’s offices that enable each office and agent to coordinate support either through gifts, donations, time, and more.
The original concept came from Island Sotheby’s on Maui. Paul MacLaughlin, principal broker and owner of Island Sotheby’s International Realty, originated the effort amongst his agents, and chose “Hoʻokupu”: a Hawaiian ceremonial presentation of gifts formerly offered as tribute.
MNHCoC says the event is a great way for clients to get involved in their (new) community and encourages all clients, past and present, to participate.
Each year, a new single organization is picked for a large monetary gift in order to provide a tangible impact. The grant-making is managed and advised by the Hawai‘i Community Foundation.
Tickets are $30 for non-MNHCoC members, and $25 for MNHCoC individual members and MNHCoC business members.
The price includes a dinner buffet (with a no-host bar) catered by Dani’s Catering and will feature mochiko chicken, fried Mahi Mahi, and beef broccoli.
