Habitat Celebrates 20 Years on Maui

Habitat for Humanity Maui is celebrating 20 years of helping Maui and Lānaʻi build and renovate affordable housing.  An anniversary party marking the milestone is planned on Sept. 30, 2017 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort.

The celebration will include dancing and a casino room, as well as entertainment by Old, a Rock and Roll oldies band from Maui. There will also be live and silent auctions featuring trips to New York (including tickets to Broadway shows) and Las Vegas, and handmade items by Maui’s artisans.

Individual tickets are $195 (including $100 in funny money chips for the casino room) with a few table and major sponsorship opportunities currently available. Funds raised will help support Habitat’s upcoming project in Lahaina, where 10 single family homes will be built.

Habitat for Humanity Maui will be honoring former board members and volunteers who have helped Habitat build and renovate more than 100 homes.

Habitat for Humanity Maui became an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in 1997 and started building in 2003. Since then Habitat Maui has built or renovated 115 homes, providing housing for more than 500 individuals.

Habitat for Humanity Maui’s mission is to build decent housing and to renovate substandard housing on Maui in partnership with community volunteers and potential homeowners so that homelessness and substandard housing on Maui is eliminated.
