After launching its very first health-focused, fast-casual eatery in Kīhei almost two years ago, Fork & Salad is opening a second corporate location in Kahului on Friday, June 1. The new store, located at 120 Ho’okele Street #330 in the Pu‘unēnē Shopping Center, will mark the grand opening with a Hawaiian blessing by Kimokeo Kapahulehua at 10 a.m. and a meet-and-greet with supplier Kumu Farms at 2 p.m.  The eatery will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

“We’re especially lucky to be opening in a spot as centrally located as the Pu‘unēnē Shopping Center,” says Fork & Salad co-owner Travis Morrin. “Nearly every household on Maui makes a weekly trip to Kahului to stop by Starbucks, Petco, or the island’s only Target, and most travelers pass by on their way to or from the airport. By opening the newest Fork & Salad in such a high-traffic area, we’re fulfilling our mission of bringing healthy farm-to-table cuisine to the masses and making it easily accessible to all who live or play on Maui.”

Fork & Salad’s newest locale spans 1,400 square feet, seating more than 20 guests in the custom-designed space. To make ordering simple and fast, step-by-step instructions are built into the wall collage, and ingredients are displayed on an open line for easy visibility.

Guests will enjoy the same menu options available at the Azeka Mauka location in Kīhei, including build-your-own options, signature salads, a range of sandwiches, gluten-free items, kombucha on draft, and much more. The new Kahului store will also offer take-out and pick-up options via phone ordering or the free Fork & Salad mobile app.

Founded in Kīhei by co-owners Jaron Blosser, Travis Morrin, and Cody Christopher, Fork & Salad opened in 2016 with the vision of making farm-to-table cuisine more available, and keeping it as healthy, convenient, and affordable as possible. The Maui-based concept is also committed to serving and supporting the island’s local residents and businesses. Fork & Salad employs roughly 40 island residents between their two locations, and sources over 50 local ingredients from more than 25 farmers and suppliers based in Hawai’i.

As we reported in February, Fork & Salad will be expanding beyond Maui as well. Co-owners have partnered with Fransmart, the industry-leading franchise development company behind the success of household concepts like The Halal Guys and Five Guys Burgers & Fries, as its exclusive franchising partner to grow the emerging health brand.
