Teen Pedestrian Injured in Moloka‘i Motor Vehicle Collision

A 13-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries in a motor vehicle collision reported on Tuesday night on Molokaʻi.

Police described the girl as a pedestrian from Kualapuʻu, and say she was transported to Oʻahu for treatment.

The incident was reported at 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 on Farrington Avenue (480) near 260 Farrington Avenue in Kualapuʻu, Molokaʻi.

According to police reports, the collision occurred as a white 1996 Jeep Cherokee traveling west-bound on Farrington Avenue collided with a pedestrian walking in the same direction along the roadway.

The 27-year-old man driving the Jeep and his female passenger, both from Hoʻolehua, were not injured.

Police say the involvement of speed, drugs and alcohol are still pending as the investigation is on-going.
