Willie K Earns HARA Lifetime Achievement Award

PC: Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts.

Maui musician and entertainer Willie K was honored by the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts with the organization’s 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award.

He is among a list of five individuals who were recognized with the honor over the weekend. Others included Al Harrington, Kimo Alama Keaulana, Mike Kelly and Sam Septimo.

HARA, the organization that puts on the annual Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, also honored Madame Nani Alapaʻi and Martin Pahinui with Lifetime Achievement Legacy awards.

The organization also reflected upon past honorees who passed over the last year including Maui’s Richard Hoʻopiʻi of the Hoʻopiʻi Brothers, who was a 2015 honoree; Mahiʻai Beamer; Peter Moon; Roland Cazimero; and Neva Rego.
