Wet and windy weather caused trees to fall across the road corridor in the Moloka‘i Forest Reserve, resulting in a temporary closure.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife closed the reserve this morning.  Due to weather, repair crews are unable to get into the area with heavy equipment and machinery to clear debris at this time.

If the weather clears sufficiently to allow crew access, the closure is anticipated to continue through next week.  Department officials advise that continued inclement weather could extend the closure.
