If you didn’t already get your tickets, you may be out of luck.
According to the University of Hawaii athletic department, Maui’s ticket allotment is SOLD OUT for the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball match versus Nebraska scheduled for Friday, Mar. 23, at War Memorial Gym.
There are LIMITED tickets still available, but the remaining seats have to be purchased online. Fans must print the tickets on their home computer, or visit the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.) or call 944-2697 during the same hours.
Hawaiian Airlines, a UH Diamond Corporate Partner, is providing airline tickets for the UH and Nebraska players, coaches, and support staffs. In addition, they will have giveaways and prizes. The team will also be available for photos and autographs after the match.
Two former Maui Interscholastic League players — Kalei Adolpho and Ginger Long — are on the Hawaii roster and will returning to the Valley Isle for the first time since joining the team. Adolpho is a former Molokai standout and MIL Division II Player of the Year, while Long is a product of Kamehameha Maui and former MIL Division I Player of the Year.
The Rainbow Wahine (31-2 in 2011) finished the season ranked No.5 in the final 2011 AVCA national poll after advancing to the NCAA Honolulu Regional. The Bows won the Western Athletic Conference for the 16th time with an unblemished 14-0 record, and will play next season as a member of the Big West Conference.
The Cornhuskers (25-5 in 2011) are coming off a season that saw them win their first Big-10 title before falling in five sets to Kansas State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Nebraska was one win away from joining UH in the Honolulu Regional and concluded the season ranked No. 12 nationally. This will be the third Spring match between the two teams.
