A Wind Advisory remains in effect for the Summit of Haleakala above the 6,000 foot elevation until 10 a.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service issued the advisory saying winds are expected to be southeasterly, blowing at 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.  Motorists are urged to use extra caution while driving.  Loose objects should be secured or moved indoors to prevent them from becoming airborne.
