3 Acre Hahana Road Fire Burns Small Structure

A three-acre brush fire in Haiku was called extinguished at 7:25 p.m. (Wednesday, April 18, 2012).

The blaze destroyed a 200-square-foot structure, and brush in the area of Hahana Road.

Crews responded to the incident at 2:53 p.m., with firefighting efforts hampered by limited access and steep terrain.

Crews assisting with the firefighting efforts included: Engines 2, 14, and 10; Tankers 10 and 3; Hazmat 10; Battalion Chief 1; Air 1; and two Public Works Tankers.

The fire was eventually called 75% contained at 5:14 p.m.

No injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
