Disney Wonder Makes Inaugural Call in Kahului

A traditional Plaque & Key exchange ceremony for the inaugural call of the Disney Wonder was held at Kahului Harbor on Saturday.

Captain Fabian Dib welcomed key representatives from the local community on-board the ship for a ceremony and reception, followed by a tour of the ship.

Local government and community officials met up with Mickey Mouse and the crew of the Disney Wonder to take a tour of the ship that is now advertising cruises between Los Angeles and Hawai’i.

The vessel is offering 14- and 15-night cruises between Los Angeles and Hawai’i with port calls in: Kahului, Maui; Nawiliwili, Kauai; Honolulu, Oahu; Hilo, Hawaii; Ensenada, Mexico.

The Disney Wonder has 11 decks, is 964 feet long and 106 feet wide, and weighs 83,000 tons.  It has the capacity to comfortably accommodate 2,700 passengers, along with 950 cast and crew members.
