Planned Closure of Baldwin Avenue for Makawao 3rd Friday

The County of Maui today announced plans to close down a portion of Baldwin Avenue for the upcoming Makawao 3rd Friday Town Party event on June 15, 2012.

The closure would extend along Baldwin Avenue from the intersection of Brewer Road to Makawao Avenue during the evening festivities.

County officials say the road closure is to ensure the safety of pedestrians during the Makawao Town Party event, which happens on the third Friday each month at the location.

The proposal was pending approval by the Maui Police Department at last report.

If approved, other routes around the closed area would include: Brewers Road, Ukiu Road and Makawao Avenue.
