Three on Maui Promoted to Firefighter III

The Maui Fire Department announced the promotion of three individuals to the rank of Firefighter III.

The list includes firefighters Kaleo Kealoha, Patrick Fukuda, and Gavin Fujioka.

“We are proud of the fact that we have personnel in place to make us a better department and allow us to serve better the community in which we live in and give them the chance to advance in their careers,” said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.

Kaleo Kealoha is a 10 year veteran of the department, having served nine years at the Wailea Fire Station, and one year as a Firefighter II at the Kahului Fire Station. His promotion becomes effective on June 16, 2012, at which time, he will be assigned to the Hoolehua Fire Station.

Patrick Fukuda is also a 10 year veteran of the department.  He served for three years at the Hana Fire Station, and seven years at the Paia Fire Station.  Fukuda’s promotion took effect on May 16, 2012, and he is currently assigned to the Health and Safety Bureau.

Gavin Fujioka is a seven year veteran, spending most of his career at the Paia Fire Station, except for two months at the Hoolehua Fire Station on Moloka’i. His promotion took effect on May 16, 2012, and he is currently assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau.
