Maui to Dedicate 13 New Paratransit Vehicles

The Maui County Department of Transportation will dedicate 13 new paratransit vehicles to its fleet next week.

The new vehicles include 10 buses and three Dodge Caravans, all of which are wheelchair accessible.

The county currently serves approximately 600 paratransit riders.

County officials say the new vehicles will serve qualified applicants who live within three quarters of a mile of an existing bus route.

The dedication ceremony is open to the public and will take place at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 18 at the Roberts Hawaii Base Yard in Kahului.
