Sale of Maui Business Park II Lots Begin

A&B Properties, Inc., the real estate subsidiary of Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., announced today that it has begun sales in Phase II of its 179-acre Maui Business Park in Kahului.

“This project will add a diverse mix of space to Maui’s main business and retail hub,” said Christopher J. Benjamin, president and chief operating officer of Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., in a written statement.

“MBP-II’s build-out and the resultant expanding employment base will be important drivers of Maui’s economic growth over the next two decades,” added Alan Arakawa, the senior vice president of planning for A&B Properties (Editor’s note: this is not Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa).

“The project’s 65 available lots offer an opportunity for businesses to acquire fee simple land that can be developed for warehousing, distribution, light manufacturing, retail and office use. Its central location and close proximity to Kahului Airport and Kahului Harbor are ideal for serving the Maui community.”

The Park consists of two areas with a total of 65 lots: the North (29 lots) and the South (36 lots). Construction of the infrastructure has commenced and is projected to be completed by the end of 2012.

The fee simple lots are zoned M-1 for (light industrial)  and range in size from one-half acre to five and one-half acre lots. All but one lot include roads, curbs, gutters, landscaping, sanitary sewer system, potable and nonpotable water, electrical, cable TV and telephone.

The A&B’s Maui Business Park Phase I previously sold out in 2005.
