The Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual business fest today, Friday, October 12, in Wailea.

The event this year features OHA Maui Trustee candidates, a panel of successful Maui entrepreneurs, and the development team for Pulehunui, a new public/private venture in Central Maui.

The 6th Annual Hui Holomua Business Fest begins at 6 a.m. with a Hawaiian canoe and ho’okupu ceremony at the permanent Ahu located on the Grand Wailea grounds near the beach.

A full day of panel discussions on entrepreneurship, public/private business collaboration, capacity building, and economic development follows in the resort conference rooms.

The all day event is free and open to the all Maui business people.There is a $30 fee for a sit-down luncheon in the Grand Wailea Haleakala Ballroom. Keynote Luncheon speaker Ramsay Taum will expand and illustrate the conference theme: Native Hawaiian Values Are Good Business Values.

Also in attendance will be US Senatorial Candidate Linda Lingle, Governor Neil Abercrombie, and Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa.

The Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber brings together Hawaiian culture and commerce.  The annual Business Fest event is sponsored by the MNHCoC, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and Maui corporate sponsors.
