The additional flights adds nearly 90,000 new air seats annually to Maui, and is designed to better match capacity with consumer demand.

Airline officials say the increased Maui service will strengthen Hawaiian’s new Maui hub at Kahului Airport, offering expanded options for nonstop service and easy connections to neighbor island airports on both Kaua‘i and Hawai‘i Island.

Except for a six-week seasonal summer increase in service, Hawaiian has been offering four flights per week between Oakland and Maui, and three flights per week between San José and Maui since January 2012.
