Rescue crews on Molokai transported a 20-year-old woman to the hospital in stable condition on Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2012.

The Maui Fire Department’s Engine 12 responded to the initial call at 1:38 p.m. of a female resident at Halawa Falls who was in need of medical assistance.

When crews arrived on scene, the woman was with an off duty doctor who stated that she had been in what he believed to be anaphylactic shock, said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.

Crews from Engine 12 then provided medical assistance and helped the woman along the trail to waiting medics who transported her to Molokai General Hospital for further treatment.

Additional support from Rescue 10 and Air 1 was on standby at a landing zone near medics, but they were not utilized.
