The Salvation Army hosts its 12th annual Health Fair for the Homeless from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Kahului office on West Kamehameha Avenue.
The one-of-a-kind health fair is designed to help Maui’s homeless population with their essential needs through the assistance of service agencies and vendors.
“This day provides a special opportunity for anyone unsheltered to come to a one-stop shop where a full range of healthcare and homeless services will be readily accessible,” says Major Brian West, Salvation Army Maui County coordinator.
All services are provided free on-location. The event also includes free food and door prizes.
Services offered by 19 participating agencies include: AIDS testing, dental services, legal help, housing placement, elder and disability services, job opportunities, financial assistance, mental health and family planning services.
The Salvation Army is a charitable and service organization serving Hawaii’s people for more than century. It provides social services to those in need with many coming to rely on The Salvation Army for assistance particularly with food, clothing and shelter.
