Two Extricated in 4-Car Puukolii Crash

Two individuals were extricated from vehicles involved in a four-car crash in the Puukolii area of West Maui last night.

The incident was reported at 6:09 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, on the Honoapiilani Highway (Hwy 30) intersection with Puukolii Road and Kai Ala Drive.

After the patients were extricated by fire personnel from Ladder-3 and Engine-3, they were transported in the care of paramedics to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in stable condition, said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.

Maui police closed the northbound lanes of the Honoapiilani Highway at the intersection of Puukolii Road from 6:39 to 8:18 p.m.
