A bill introduced today by Maui Senators Gil Keith-Agaran and Roz Baker seeks approval to rename the Mokulele Highway to honor the legacy of late US Senator Daniel K. Inouye.

The highway would be renamed the Daniel K. Inouye Veteran’s Highway in recognition of the senator’s work in obtaining federal transportation funds for the state.   A portion of the funds he helped to secure was used for work on the Mokulele Highway.
