Maui Hosts Wellness Workshop for Better Health

The County of Maui is offering a six-week health workshop to help residents manage chronic conditions, and improve overall wellness.

The educational health aging program called “Better Choices – Better Health” will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon on six Mondays from Feb. 25 to April 8.

The workshop series will skip the week of March 18 with all classes to be held at the Kaiser Maui Lani Conference Room in Wailuku.

The program is designed to help people manage their chronic conditions as well as their overall health through achievable action plans involving relaxation, nutrition, improved communication skills, medication management, and exercise.

Participants receive a book, “Living a Healthy Life With Chronic Conditions,” and a relaxation CD, “Time for Healing.”

Cost is $10 for individuals age 60-and-over, and for caregivers of any age. The cost is $35 for those under 60 years of age. Scholarships are available.
