The heavy rains yesterday afternoon swept a cottage off its foundation on Kaluanui Road in Makawao, stranded vehicles in Upcountry Maui, and resulted in evacuations of eight homes at Maliko Gulch.

The most severe flooding incidents on Maui were reported in the Makawao and Maliko areas, with heavy rains also reported across the East Maui coastline.
