Bar Crawl the Triangle on Wednesday
By Vanessa Wolf
Already have the day off or have no respect for whatever it is you’re supposed to be doing on Thursday morning?
Kihei Kalama Village is now hosting a bar crawl on the second Wednesday of every month from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
This coming Wednesday will mark the second such event. Revelers can get a stamp card from each of the five participating bars. Fill them up – purchase of a drink is *not* required: just see and be seen at all five locales – and find yourself eligible to win booze-related schwag.
Seeing as this week’s sponsor is Patron, we’re guessing t-shirts and tchotches with their name emblazoned on it. You can also expect to find Patron-based drink specials, as well.
Ambrosia starts things off at 7:30 p.m. with a screening of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” You remember this one: the curvy Greek girl meets and gets engaged to marry that guy that played Aiden on Sex and the City. Cultural differences and heavy feasting ensue. Doesn’t it seem like that movie is from the ’90s even though we all know it isn’t? Weird.
At any rate, if rom-coms aren’t your bag, swing by Ambrosia after 10 p.m. when DJ J-Zen will be spinning his “Jacked Up” set.
If you show up to the Triangle promptly on time, you might want to catch the Herb Andrews Band at 8 p.m. at Kahale’s.
The House Shakers will be offering blues at Three’s Bar and Grill beginning at 8:30 p.m.
At 10 p.m. it’s Ladies Night with DJ Decka at the Tiki Lounge.
If you’re looking for more live music and don’t mind screaming at the top of your lungs to talk to your friends, Jessica and Kanoa at the Dog and Duck may be more to your liking. Their set also starts at 10 p.m.
It probably goes without saying, but drunk driving is an excellent way to complicate your life, needlessly spend thousands of dollars, and get your name in the media.
If you find yourself a little too celebratory on Wednesday, maybe consider a designated driver or a cab.
Have an idea for a fun or thought-provoking story? Get in touch: we want to hear from you. -Vanessa (@mauinow.com)
