Maui Flood Advsisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the Island of Maui until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
Forecasters with the NWS say radar at around 6 p.m., showed moderate to heavy showers moving into the windward side of the island, with stationary heavy rain over the West Maui Mountains, up-slope from Wailuku to Waihee.
The NWS also noted heavy showers moving into windward East Maui, and torrential rain expected over the Hana Highway from Kaupo to Hana and Keanae.

The National Weather Service has extended a Flash Flood Warning for the Island of Kauai until 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
Forecasters from the NWS say radar at 10:54 a.m. showed moderate showers persisting along the windward slopes of the islands, with elevated stream conditions.
Several road closures remained in effect at last report including Kuhio Highway at the Hanalei River, Puupilo Road in the Wailua Homesteads, and Hauaala Road in Keapana.
The Department of Land and Natural Resources also closed the Na Pali Coast State Park and Kalalau trail until further notice due to flooding caused by a weather system on Kauai.
Emergency managers filed a report with the NWS stating that 12 hikers were airlifted out of the Hanakapiai stream area this morning because they were unable to pass due to rising water.
On Oahu, a Flood Advisory was issued until 1:45 p.m. Forecasters with the NWS say radar showed rain falling at 1-2 inches per hour across windward parts of the island and into Wahiawa and Mililani.
On Maui, a Flood Watch remains in effect until this afternoon as an upper level trough moves over the state creating unstable conditions with the potential for flash flooding.

The watch is in effect through this afternoon as an upper level trough moves over the state, creating unstable conditions with the potential for flash flooding through tonight.
Meantime, the western portion of the state has been receiving wet weather from last night.
A flash flood warning for the island of Kauai was extended until 11:15 a.m., with rising waters reported at the Hanalei Bridge, which led to its closure.
Forecasters from the NWS say radar and rain gauge reports show rain totals around two inches over the warning area.
