A 63-year-old woman was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition after being pulled from waters at Honolua Bay in Napili on Thursday morning, officials said.
According to an incident report, the woman was snorkeling at around 9:20 a.m. when someone on shore noticed her yelling for help.
Authorities say rescue crews aboard a jet ski found the woman unconscious and face down in the water.
Maui Fire Services Chief, Lee Mainaga said firefighters began CPR on the victim after she was brought to shore by rescue personnel.
Officials say the woman was visiting Maui from Mount Vernon, Washington.
