Beginning on Monday, April 22, some bus stops in West Maui will be out of service due to Honokōwai road repairs and related road closures.

Officials with the County of Maui Department of Transportation announced the service suspension saying that while there is a set time frame, unexpected delays in the road repair project could alter road closures along the route.

The following areas along the Nāpili Islander route will be affected:

  • Bus stops between Akahele Street and Hoʻohui Road will not be in service on Monday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 23.
  • Bus stops from the beginning of Lower Honoapiʻilani Road near Times Supermarket to Akahele Street will not be in service on Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25.

DOT officials say the road closures will take place in conjunction with the application of slurry seal to two sections of Lower Honoapiʻilani Road.
