The Hall of Honor program has been recognizing the top 12 Hawai’i senior student-athletes each year since 1982. It was originally established by Nissan Motor Corp. in Hawaii, Ltd., to recognize athletic excellence and achievements of Hawaii’s high school athletes.
In fall 2004, Nissan Hawaii turned the prestigious high school scholarship program over to the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association to maintain the 22-year-old tradition.
